Thor Prayer Beads: Norse God of Thunder, Protector of Humanity
This set of prayer beads for Thor consists of three groups of nine beads, recalling the three roots of the World Tree, Yggdrasil, and the nine worlds joined by that tree. Separating these sections are three hanging pendants, each a symbol representing the god:
Thor's Hammer - A symbol of the god's might and his power to protect and to hallow.
Lightning - Thor is god of the thunderstorm and wielder of the lightning bolt.
Goat - Thor's cart is drawn by two goats, who each night may be slaughtered and eaten, and the next day return to life.
It is made with 10mm red fire-polished Czech glass beads flecked with black, separated by silver-toned metal spacer beads, and glass seed beads to provide a comfortable transition from one bead to the next and to make the piece lightweight, supple, and easy to handle. The string itself is approximately 26" in circumference and can be slipped over the head and worn if desired (keep in mind that there is no clasp, so if you plan to wear it, make sure a 26" loop will fit over your head), although it is designed to be used in prayer and meditation, to decorate an altar or shrine, and/or to adorn a statue.
The beads come with a prayer to Thor, written specifically to be used with this prayer bead design (you can, of course, use the beads with any prayers, or for any god or gods, that you choose or that resonate with you) and with a cotton muslin bag for storage.
