Skadhi (Skadi) Prayer Beads: Norse Goddess of Winter, the Wilderness, Mountains, Skiing, Archery
This set of prayer beads for Skadhi (Skadi) consists of three groups of nine beads, recalling the three roots of the World Tree, Yggdrasil, and the nine worlds joined by that tree. Separating these sections are three hanging pendants, each a symbol representing the goddess:
Wolf - The wolf is dear to Skadhi; when she and Njord lived by the sea, she missed the howl of the wolves above all else.
Bow and arrow - Skadhi is a hunter and patron goddess of the hunt; her aim is unerring.
Snowflake - The winter is Skadhi's season, her realm one of snow and ice.
It is made with 10mm deep icy blue fire-polished Czech glass beads, separated by silver-toned metal spacer beads, and glass seed beads to provide a comfortable transition from one bead to the next and to make the piece lightweight, supple, and easy to handle.
The string itself is approximately 28.5" (63.5cm) in circumference and can be slipped over the head and worn if desired (keep in mind that there is no clasp, so if you plan to wear it, make sure a 28.5" loop will fit over your head), although it is designed to be used in prayer and meditation, to decorate an altar or shrine, and/or to adorn a statue.
The beads come with a prayer to Skadhi, written specifically to be used with this prayer bead design (you can, of course, use the beads with any prayers, or for any god or gods, that you choose or that resonate with you) and with a cotton muslin bag for storage.
