This Pan prayer bead bracelet consists of twelve beads, representing the Greek dodecatheon of twelve gods; there are many more than twelve Greek gods, but most cities had their own group of twelve. At the end of the string is a pendant, a symbol representing the god: the goat, reminding us of Pan's connection with the wild lands and of his own goatlike hoof and horn.
This piece is a smaller, lighter, more easily wearable version of my pocket prayer beads and comes with the same prayer.
The bracelet is made from 8mm light sage green fire-polished Czech glass beads separated by silver-toned metal spacer beads and glass seed beads to provide a comfortable transition from one bead to the next and to make the piece lightweight, supple and easy to handle. It is 7" (17.8cm) long, not including the clasp, and should fit a 6.5" (16.5cm) wrist comfortably, or a 7" (17.8cm) wrist snugly.
This design can be made in other lengths if desired--7.0" (17.8cm), 7.5" (19cm), 8.0" (20.3cm), 8.5" (21.6cm), 9.0" (22.9cm), 9.5" (24.1cm)--at no additional cost; please contact me for more information about custom sizing.
The bracelet is designed to be worn and used in prayer or meditation, but may also be used to decorate an altar or shrine, or to adorn a statue.
The beads come with a prayer to Pan, and with a cotton muslin bag for storage.
You can, of course, use the beads with any prayers, or for any god or gods, that you choose or that resonate with you.
(The metal components in this piece are made from silver-plated steel or brass. It can also be made with stainless steel components for an additional cost if desired; please message me for more information on customization.)
