This set of prayer beads for Frigga consists of three groups of nine beads, recalling the three roots of the World Tree, Yggdrasil, and the nine worlds joined by that tree. Separating these sections are three hanging pendants, each a symbol representing the goddess:
Key - In ancient times the key was a powerful representation of the power held by the woman of a household.
Crown - The crown reminds us of Frigga's sovereignty as queen of Asgard.
Spinning wheel - Frigga is known as a spinner; the constellation we know as the belt of Orion was known in the north as "Frigga's distaff."
It is made with 10mm light blue fire-polished Czech glass beads with an aurora finish, separated by silver-toned metal spacer beads, and glass seed beads to provide a comfortable transition from one bead to the next and to make the piece lightweight, supple, and easy to handle. The string itself is approximately 26" in circumference and can be slipped over the head and worn if desired (keep in mind that there is no clasp, so if you plan to wear it, make sure a 26" loop will fit over your head), although it is designed to be used in prayer and meditation, to decorate an altar or shrine, and/or to adorn a statue.
The beads come with a prayer to Frigga, written specifically to be used with this prayer bead design (you can, of course, use the beads with any prayers, or for any god or gods, that you choose or that resonate with you) and with a cotton muslin bag for storage.
