Dionysos (Dionysus) Travel Prayer Beads: Greek God of Wine, Theater, Ecstasy and the Mysteries

Regular price $29.00 Sale

This set of Dionysos (Dionysus) travel prayer beads consists of twelve beads, representing the Greek dodecatheon of twelve gods; there are many more than twelve Greek gods, but most cities had their own group of twelve. Attached to the string is a pendant, a symbol representing the god: the grape. Dionysos is god of the grape harvest; a number of his festivals were devoted to the harvest and fermentation of the grape.

This piece is meant to be carried on your travels; it is easily hung from the rear view mirror of a car and closes with a strong magnetic clasp. It can also be quickly fastened to and removed from a purse or backpack (inside the bag is safer!), a desk or nightstand lamp, a bedpost, or anywhere you want to keep it handy. The design is based on my pocket prayer beads and comes with the same prayer.

The piece is made from 8mm purple Czech fire-polished glass beads separated by silver-toned metal spacer beads and glass seed beads to provide a comfortable transition from one bead to the next and to make the piece lightweight, supple and easy to handle. It is 9.5" (24.1cm) long, not including the magnetic clasp.

These beads are designed to be easily attached and removed from a car's rear view mirror or other fixture, but may also be used to decorate an altar or shrine, or to adorn a statue.

They can also be made with a lobster clasp instead of a magnetic closure for no additional cost if desired; please message me for more information on customization.

The beads come with a prayer to Dionysos, and with a cotton muslin bag for storage.

You can, of course, use the beads with any prayers, or for any god or gods, that you choose or that resonate with you.
